Leave Your Acne In 2018

It’s finally 2019 and one of the items on your New Year’s resolution list was to have clear skin. Some patients have chronic acne, where it is apart of their daily life, while others only suffer from an occasional pimple. Regardless, we are not bringing acne into 2019, and we’ve gathered a few tips to help treat and prevent your acne. An Acne Treatment Tip can help you achieve clear skin this new year, but let’s start with what exactly acne is:

Acne occurs when your pores become blocked with dead skin, oil, dirt or bacteria. When your skin cannot function as normally because its pores are blocked, it causes a pimple which can easily become inflamed and red. Acne can occur anywhere including the face, neck, back, arms, chest. The most common place for acne to form on the face is on the cheeks, chin, and jawline.

Tea tree oil:

Tea tree oil has always been known for its ability to reduce skin inflammation and fight bacteria. Because it fights P. acnes and S. epidermidis, the two types of bacteria that cause pimples, it’s perfect to help fight acne in 2019. This acne treatment tip is ideal for long-term acne and fresh pimples. Tea tree oil has been proven to fight bacteria four times more effective than over the counter gels and creams that claim they rid pimples. Benzoyl peroxide is a common acne medication that does work, but tea tree oil is a more natural approach to your acne fighting journey. Remember, tea tree oil is very potent and can cause irritation if too much is applied directly to the skin. It’s best to dilute it with water or carrier oils for the best results.

Lemon juice:

Applying lemon juice to your acne is another great Acne Treatment Tip. Lemon contains vitamin C which has acidic properties that are perfect to help fight off bacteria. It’s best to use a fresh lemon and squeeze it rather a store bought bottles as they usually contain preservatives that will harm your skin. Lemon juice can be used as an overnight Acne Treatment Tip allowing you to wake up with fresh skin. After cutting and squeezing a lemon, dip a cotton swab into the juice. Apply it to the affected area and allow it to sit overnight. In the morning, follow your usual washing routine and rinse with lukewarm water. Overnight, the juice will fight the bacteria sitting on your face allowing you to wake up pimple free.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Name one thing that Apple Cider Vinegar can’t do. This stuff fixes credit, bank accounts and now pimples. This Acne Treatment Tip can help break down any underlying bacterial problems your acne may be causing. ACV acts as a natural astringent that can help make your skin feel softer, smoother and your pimples less inflamed. ACV also absorbs oils that you don’t want clogging your pores which leads to zits. ACV is perfect for long-term use. Simply dip a cotton swab into your ACV and gently rub on the infected area. This method of spot treatment can work on your pimples overnight revealing a huge difference in the morning.
