At the Miami Center for Dermatology, we want to help you celebrate beauty by putting healthy skin first. Here’s some skin care advice and some of our best beauty tips you should know before attending this year’s Beauty Brunch!
Healthy Skin Starts With a Healthy Routine
Your skin needs moisture. Regardless of your skin type, a good moisturizer is definitely a skin care necessity, so using one on a daily basis is one of our best beauty tips. Even if you have oily skin, don’t deprive it of the hydration it needs.
Rather, focus on getting a moisturizer that fits your skin type. Not all moisturizers are created equal—some are heavy, some are lightweight, so not every moisturizer will work for you. This is where your dermatologist can help you determine which moisturizer is best for your skin. Dry skin can accentuate wrinkles, fine lines, and texture on the skin.
Even if your skin is acne-prone and produces high levels of sebum, dryness can still occur if you use exfoliating products but don’t moisturize.
Don’t compromise the natural lipid barrier of your skin by skipping moisturizer, as it will do more harm than good. Your dermatologist can evaluate your skin’s individual needs and then help you determine the right skin care routine.
As for our anti-aging beauty tips, we always say that sunscreen is your best friend. Even if you cleanse, moisturize, or use certain ingredients on your skin, it will not be able to prevent aging in the same way that sunscreen can.
Protecting your skin from the sun isn’t just about making you look young, it’s also about preventing skin cancer from occurring. No skin care product can do that except for sunscreen, so make sure you wear it every day, even when it’s raining or cloudy outside.
When looking for a cleanser, you also should be mindful of your skin type, just like you would when picking out a moisturizer. However, don’t get in the habit of washing your face constantly, as it can damage the natural lipid barrier that keeps your skin hydrated and plump. Washing your face too often can lead to irritation, dryness, peeling, and itching.
Fillers Are More Common Than You Think
Another one of our beauty tips is to not be afraid of facial fillers.
While facial fillers have a stigma surrounding them because they are perceived to be unnatural-looking, many modern facial fillers have evolved with better technology, leaving you with so many more options than just Botox.
In fact, many facial fillers are actually temporary and provide natural-looking results, so even if you’re not happy with how your face looks in the end, you have the option of not receiving anymore filler, as opposed to other procedures that are permanent.
At the Miami Center for Dermatology, we have an array of options that our dermatologists can expertly choose from to fit your face.
Join us on March 7th from 11 am to 2 pm for the Miami Center for Dermatology’s Beauty Brunch 2020! Over the last few years, we’ve had our Night of Beauty event at Miami Center for Dermatology, but this year, we’re doing something fresh and different.
