Now Is the Time to Reveal Fresh, Glowing Skin

One of the most effective ways to exfoliate and reveal fresh, glowing skin is through chemical peels. We have several different chemical peels to choose from to best suit your skin type and unique needs. If you’ve been waiting to get a peel, now is the time to get one for fresh winter skin

Take Advantage of This Season!

While South Florida basically has summer all year long, it is slightly less hot in the cooler “fall” and “winter” months. Therefore, it’s safe to say that you probably go to the beach and the park way less in these months than you do in the summer. Even most water parks in Florida are closed for these two seasons.

This is why dermatologists highly advise against chemical peels for patients who are spending lots of time outdoors. In the snowy states and cooler months, you’re going to cover up, wear more clothing, and stay inside to keep warm.

If you’re getting a chemical peel to remove signs of sun damage and deep scarring, going out in the sun for extended periods of time will only worsen that damage on your skin! It’s best to choose a time in the year when you won’t be going out in the sun for too long. Your peel will reveal fresh winter skin, so always, always, always wear sunscreen during the day—especially when you’re outdoors, driving, or working inside near a window.

After a chemical peel, your skin will be ultra-sensitive to UV rays. Protect your skin as much as possible by consulting your dermatologist and choosing the right time for your chemical peel. This is especially true if you choose a deeper peel procedure or a treatment with sessions that span over several months.

We have an entire list of dermatologist-approved facials, including chemical peels for fresh, glowing skin. Here are two peels we recommend:

Chemical peels are often applied with a brush directly to the skin and left on the skin for a few minutes. This concentrated exfoliating treatment reveals fresh, glowing skin.

Get Fresh Glowing Skin With Our Glow Peel

You’re likely already familiar with the concept of exfoliating—a way to remove dead skin cells and accelerate cell turnover to reveal softer, new skin. Whether chemical or physical, the most common exfoliants in skincare products are way more gentle than the ones found in facial peels. Thus, your exfoliating serum or cleanser are great weekly options, as they only penetrate the outermost layer of your skin.

Chemical peels are much stronger and more intense as they penetrate into deeper layers of the skin. The strongest peels can reduce deep wrinkles, scarring, and skin texture. A weaker chemical peel is still strong enough to reduce signs of aging and sun damage. While patients can get lighter peels about once a month depending on their skin, the strongest peels are reserved for patients with severe damage. In fact, these peels are so strong that a dermatologist will only administer these peels to the patient once every few years.

However, our Glow Peel is an excellent option for those new to chemical peel and who regularly exfoliate. If you have sensitive skin, make sure to consult with our team before moving forward with this peel. While some chemical peels can be a relaxing experience similar to facials, they require more downtime and maintenance than your average facial.

After your peel, you’ll likely be sent home with several products that you’ll need to use for the next few days or weeks. You’ll be advised to be extra gentle with your skin, staying away from exfoliants.

Get Fresh Winter Skin With Our VI Peel

A VI Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that penetrates your top layer of skin, called the epidermis, reaching into the dermis underneath. This peel is from Vitality Institute Medical Products and is administered at many different medspas.

Like other chemical peels, a VI Peel works by exfoliating your skin and stimulating the production of new proteins. The procedure is commonly used to treat signs of aging, improve skin texture, and correct pigmentary issues.

However, VI Peels are gentle enough that they can safely be used on your face, chest, eyelids, hands, and back. This type of peel can be used on all skin types and tones, but to be extra safe, consult with our team with any questions and concerns you may have. Benefits of the VI Peel include:

  • Treating fine lines and wrinkles
  • Treating sun spots and discoloration
  • Treating keratosis pilaris
  • Reducing oil production
  • Killing bacteria
  • Reducing inflammation
  • Breaking down your outer layer of skin
  • Reducing clogged pores

All of our facials are performed by medical professionals. At the Miami Center for Dermatology, we help you achieve the best-looking skin while making it as healthy as possible. For this month only, get 15% off our Glow Peel and VI Peel. Book a consultation with us today!
